Chemical Plant Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a competent Chemical Plant Engineer to manage and optimize the operations of their manufacturing facility in Sandton . This role involves overseeing the day-to-day running of the plant, ensuring efficient production, maintaining equipment, and adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations. You will work closely with production teams, maintenance staff, and management to achieve operational targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient and safe production schedules are met.
• Manage maintenance programs for plant equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
• Monitor production output, quality control, and process efficiency, implementing improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and company policies.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on plant upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or plant engineering.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and maintenance strategies.
• Proven experience in managing operational teams and driving EHS compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in plant management software and process control systems.
