Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in their advanced manufacturing facility in Sandton . This position is responsible for driving innovation in manufacturing processes, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring the highest levels of product quality and safety. You will lead improvement projects, collaborate with design teams on new product introductions, and mentor junior engineers.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in a demanding manufacturing environment.

• Lead the development, implementation, and validation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for significant improvement.
• Optimize production line performance, equipment utilization, and throughput using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
• Collaborate with product design and development teams to ensure design for manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement robust corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and control strategies.

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on process development and optimization.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis techniques.
• Experience with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
