About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Reservoir Modeler to guide their team and contribute to advanced reservoir characterization and simulation efforts in Sandton . This senior role involves overseeing the creation and refinement of detailed subsurface models, crucial for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and resource management. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior modelers, and collaborate closely with exploration and production teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective project execution within the Oil & Gas sector.
This is a prime opportunity to lead critical modeling initiatives in a key economic hub of Gauteng .
- Lead the development, validation, and maintenance of complex 3D reservoir models.
- Oversee the integration of diverse datasets, including seismic, well logs, core data, and production history.
- Develop and execute simulation strategies to forecast reservoir performance under various development scenarios.
- Mentor and guide junior reservoir modelers and geoscientists.
- Collaborate with asset teams to translate modeling results into actionable development plans.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in reservoir modeling and data quality control.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir modeling and simulation, with significant experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Expert proficiency with industry-standard reservoir modeling and simulation software (e.g., Petrel RE, ECLIPSE, Roxar).
- Deep understanding of geological principles, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex modeling projects and deliver high-quality results.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
