Geotechnical Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

Our client, a leading geotechnical engineering firm based in Sandton , is looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure projects throughout Gauteng and beyond. This role involves managing geotechnical investigations, analyzing site conditions, and providing critical design recommendations for foundations, slopes, and earthworks. You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability and safety of major civil engineering undertakings.

• Plan, execute, and manage geotechnical site investigations.
• Analyze soil and rock data to assess engineering properties and identify potential risks.
• Provide design recommendations for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Perform stability analyses for slopes and excavations.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and present findings to clients and project teams.
• Oversee construction quality control for earthworks and foundation elements.

• BEng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., Geo Studio, Plaxis) is essential.
• Strong understanding of South African geological conditions and construction practices.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
