Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their exploration and production team in Sandton . This critical role involves advanced analysis of subsurface reservoirs to optimize oil and gas recovery, forecasting production, and supporting field development strategies. You will work with large datasets, advanced simulation tools, and collaborate with geoscientists and drilling engineers. This is a high-impact position for an experienced professional seeking to leverage their expertise in reservoir characterization and management within a leading energy company committed to responsible resource development.
Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed reservoir characterization and simulation studies using industry-standard software.
- Develop and refine production forecasts and economic models for hydrocarbon assets.
- Recommend optimal well placement, completion strategies, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
- Analyze production data and implement strategies to maximize reservoir performance.
- Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers on field development plans.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on oil and gas exploration and production.
- Expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG).
- Strong understanding of reservoir geology, petrophysics, and fluid properties.
- Proven ability to conduct economic evaluations and risk assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
