Our client is seeking an ambitious Solar PV Project Developer to join their growing team in Sandton . This role is central to identifying, evaluating, and securing new opportunities for solar energy projects. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from initial site assessment and feasibility studies to securing land rights, permits, and off-take agreements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute significantly to the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in a key business hub, working within a forward-thinking company dedicated to sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and assess potential sites for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects , evaluating technical and commercial feasibility.
- Conduct due diligence, including environmental impact assessments and grid connection studies.
- Negotiate and secure land leases, permits, and other necessary agreements.
- Develop strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare project proposals, financial models, and business cases for senior management approval.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project development , with a strong focus on solar PV or renewable energy projects.
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and bring solar projects to fruition.
- Strong understanding of solar technology, project finance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with GIS tools and site assessment software is advantageous.
