Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer; Aviation

Our client, a leading player in the aviation industry, is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team in Sandton, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing complex maintenance procedures, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations.

This hybrid role allows for a blend of on-site expertise and remote administrative tasks, offering flexibility while maintaining critical operational oversight.

• Conduct in-depth inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of aircraft systems and components.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks according to manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to facilitate effective repairs.
• Supervise and guide a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
• Manage aircraft maintenance records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with flight operations and engineering departments to resolve technical issues promptly.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Participate in post-maintenance testing and flight checks.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for maintenance activities.

• Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License with relevant type ratings.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in aircraft maintenance, with a strong focus on heavy maintenance.
• Proven experience in leading or supervising technical teams.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA, EASA, FAA).
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and adapt to a hybrid work environment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass security vetting.
