Senior Structural Engineer - High-Rise and Commercial Buildings

Our client, a leading structural and civil engineering design firm renowned for its work on iconic buildings, is seeking an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to join their prestigious office in Sandton, Gauteng. This role focuses on the structural design of complex high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, and mixed-use developments. You will be responsible for leading design teams, undertaking complex structural analysis, and ensuring the integrity and safety of these significant structures.

• Lead the structural design and analysis for high-rise buildings, commercial properties, and other complex structures.
• Perform advanced structural modeling and analysis using state-of-the-art software (e.g., ETABS, SAP
  2000, Revit Structure).
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and design reports.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant South African National Standards (SANS), building codes, and international best practices.
• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct thorough design reviews, peer reviews, and quality assurance checks.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for structural engineering tasks.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Undertake site inspections and provide construction support to ensure design intent is realized.
• Stay abreast of innovative structural systems, materials, and construction technologies.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a significant portfolio of high-rise and commercial building projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in seismic design, wind engineering, and advanced structural analysis techniques.
• Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including BIM platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of concrete, steel, and composite structures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and client relationships.
• Experience in value engineering and innovative design solutions.
• Willingness to travel as required for project meetings and site visits within Gauteng.
