Lead Structural Draughtsperson

• Produce detailed structural drawings, plans, sections, and details using CAD and BIM software.
• Coordinate with structural engineers to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent and specifications.
• Manage the drawing production process, ensuring timely delivery of accurate and compliant documentation.
• Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards and project requirements.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of structural models using BIM software.
• Mentor and guide junior draughtspersons, providing technical support and feedback.
• Liaise with other disciplines (architectural, MEP) to ensure coordinated design documentation.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and project filing systems.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of drawing office standards and procedures.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input related to drafting and detailing.

• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Draughting or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsperson, with proven experience in a lead or senior capacity within the construction or engineering sector.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and ideally, experience with Revit Structure or other BIM software.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, materials (steel, concrete), and construction techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret complex structural engineering designs and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
• Experience working on diverse building and infrastructure projects in the Gauteng region is advantageous.
