About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Tax Specialist to join their esteemed tax practice in the heart of Sandton. This role involves providing expert tax advice, managing complex tax compliance matters, and contributing to tax planning strategies for a diverse client base. You will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to navigate the intricacies of tax legislation, ensuring optimal tax outcomes and mitigating risks, within a sophisticated professional services environment that offers significant growth opportunities, coupled with a flexible hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex corporate and individual tax returns.
- Provide expert advice on tax implications of business transactions and restructurings.
- Conduct tax research and provide guidance on compliance with current tax laws.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Represent clients in discussions and negotiations with tax authorities.
- Stay current with changes in tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.
- Mentor junior tax professionals and review their work.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Law;
Master's degree or professional tax qualification (e.g., H.Dip Tax, SAIT) is essential. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate and international tax.
- In-depth knowledge of South African income tax, VAT, and other relevant tax legislation.
- Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services.
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with a hybrid work setup is expected for effective client and team interaction in Sandton.
