Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Agricultural Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards within their agricultural operations based in Sandton . This role is crucial for maintaining legal and ethical standards in farming practices, product safety, and environmental protection. You will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies, conducting audits, and training staff on regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to foster a culture of compliance across the organization.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies for agricultural operations.
- Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to local, national, and international regulations (e.g., environmental, food safety, labor).
- Investigate compliance issues, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Train employees on compliance procedures, best practices, and regulatory updates.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and government bodies to ensure smooth communication and inspections.
- Stay abreast of changes in agricultural legislation and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar regulatory role, preferably in the agricultural sector.
- Strong knowledge of relevant agricultural laws, environmental regulations, and food safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills.
