Job Purpose

To focus on designing, building, and maintaining BI solutions using various technologies, IT infrastructure and systems that support business intelligence initiatives within an organization. Works closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers and data scientists to ensure that data is collected, stored, and transformed into actionable insights from medium business focused solutions to complex enterprise solutions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify and seek opportunities to improve business processes by leveraging the RPA data mart to discover and recommend effective ways to operate, thereby adding value to Nedbank.
  • Recommend technical or business opportunities based on indicators and insights discovered
  • Present analysis findings to various stakeholders in regular intervals
  • Build collaborative cross functional relationships
  • Gather and document data requirements by facilitating information gathering sessions
  • Govern population of data mart and metadata repository. This involves establishing clear data governance policies, defining roles and responsibilities, using appropriate tools, and setting standards for data quality, consistency, and security.
  • Support teams by providing consulting services that delivers data and information relevant to their process needs
  • Contribute to internal/external information sharing sessions by attending formal and informal meetings.
  • Manage external relationship interactions by conforming to their management office guidelines and principles
  • Deliver work according to customer expectations by prioritizing, planning and implementing requirements
  • Utilize resources by adhering to standards, policies and procedures
  • Align and continuously improve set processes by identifying innovation opportunities
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders
  • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers
  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames
  • Ensure information is provided correctly to stakeholders by maintaining knowledge sharing knowledge with team
  • Investigate new data requirements
  • Conduct interactions with the relevant data team to satisfy data needs
  • Create and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows using various sources, ensuring the data is cleansed and loaded accurately
  • Use database query tools and scripting languages to build and optimize data pipelines
  • Design and maintain data warehouse structures that efficiently store and organize large volumes of data
  • Provide mechanisms to enable data quality, integrity, and security within the data warehouse for accurate usage and reporting
  • Provision data to users in a structured, secure and timely manner
  • Conduct data provisioning through specialized software (SAS, SQL, Denodo or similar platforms)
