Data Analyst II

Purpose Statement

The Data Analyst role exists to unlock value from data by making data accessible and meaningful to stakeholders across the organization. This role transforms data into actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making, optimize operations, and drive business performance. By identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities, the role enables informed, data‑driven decisions and contributes directly to the company’s strategic objective of being an insights‑driven organization.

• Extract, analyse and interpret large datasets using SQL to support business decisions
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau or similar tools
• Investigate credit portfolio trends, anomalies and performance drivers
• Work with credit, risk and finance teams to understand business questions and deliver relevant analysis
• Translate complex analysis into clear summaries for senior and non‑technical stakeholders

You’ll work within a data and analytics environment supporting a large credit portfolio. Your insights will inform day‑to‑day credit risk management, portfolio monitoring and longer‑term strategic decisions in a fast‑moving financial services setting.

• Relevant degree in Data, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analysis, BI engineering or analytics platforms
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering data‑driven insights in a business environment
• Knowledge of data modelling techniques to structure and organise data effectively
• Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, optimising query performance and working with large datasets
• Expertise in advanced Excel functions, including macros and VBA
• Proficiency in creating advanced visualisations and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
• Advanced skills in Python or R, including data manipulation libraries (pandas, numpy) and data visualisation libraries (matplotlib, seaborn)
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application in financial data analysis
• Understanding of predictive analytics techniques and their application in financial analysis
• Understanding of risk analysis methods and their application in financial services

• Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical/Data/Technical or Other

• Honours Degree in Analytical/Data/Technical or Other

• Clear criminal and credit record
