To provide expertise, advice and support by executing data‑modeling standards, principles, frameworks and tools within the area of accountability. Under guidance and supervision, the role involves designing and developing logical and physical data models and databases to meet the needs of the organisation’s information systems and business requirements, and coordinating and prioritising data‑modeling activities within the business area.

SQL databases. - Develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for SARB business units and projects.
- Identify and adopt an enterprise data model as a standard for design to leverage best practice and accelerate modelling efforts.
- Monitor, measure and report on data‑modeling and data‑development quality levels to ensure correct entities and objects are captured as per business requirements.
- Amend data model designs and update data entities and objects arising from business process changes.
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from existing databases and SQL scripts.
- Ensure coverage of entities necessary to respond to business requirements is accounted for in the data models.
- Develop and manage stakeholder relations to promote data‑modeling awareness and support reliable decision‑making.
- Deliver test scripts for data models and oversee their implementation.
- Produce supporting documents and reports pertaining to data‑modeling activities.
- Drive automation of data‑modeling management processes and functions.
- Relevant Bachelor qualification.
- Minimum 4‑5 years’ experience in a data environment with hands‑on relational, dimensional and analytic experience.
- Experience with data warehouse, data lake and enterprise big‑data platforms in multi‑data‑center contexts.
- Proven experience modeling end‑to‑end payment life cycles, including clearing, settlement and reconciliation processes (e.g., Swift, ISO
20022). - Knowledge of logical data modelling and industry data models (e.g., IBM, Teradata).
- Knowledge of dimensional data modelling using Kimball methodology.
- Understanding of Inmon methodology.
- Experience developing data models in a banking environment with a specific focus on payment systems.
- Experience implementing data‑management domains and technologies (e.g., metadata management, data quality and profiling, information architecture).
