Are you passionate about transforming complex data into meaningful business insights? We're looking for an experienced Analytical Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern data environment, partnering with business and technology teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data that drives strategic decision-making.
Job responsibilities- Translate business requirements into structured, analytics-ready datasets.
- Analyse, profile, validate, and transform large volumes of enterprise data.
- Design and maintain robust data models using Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling techniques.
- Develop advanced SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and reporting.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and solution architects to deliver trusted data products.
- Support reporting, business intelligence, and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve data processes, standards, and governance.
- 5+ years' experience in Data Analysis within enterprise environments.
- 5+ years' experience in Data Modelling, including Data Vault 2.0and dimensional modelling.
- 5+ years' experience working with Data Governance principles.
- Advanced SQL skills with strong experience in data transformation, profiling, and validation.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to bridge business and technical teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Experience with Azure Data Platform and Databricks
. - Exposure to enterprise data warehouses and modern cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Controls.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Business writing and documentation skills.
- Previous experience within the banking or financial services sector will be advantageous.
