AI Engineer Internship

Sasol, a global integrated chemicals and energy company, is offering an exciting Internship Program for an AI Engineer under its Youth Development Programme. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about artificial intelligence and interested in applying cutting-edge AI technologies to real-world problems. The intern will work closely with data scientists and software engineers to develop AI models, experiment with various techniques, and support the deployment of AI solutions.

Interns will receive training to develop AI engineering skills and gain exposure to the latest tools and frameworks in artificial intelligence.

• Collaborate with data scientists to design, build, and fine-tune AI models
• Perform data preparation, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis
• Implement machine learning algorithms using Python and AI libraries
• Optimize AI models for performance and accuracy
• Support the deployment of AI models into cloud environments
• Stay updated with the latest AI research and experiment with new techniques
• Use data visualization tools to present model outcomes and create reports for stakeholders

• Honours/MSc/MEng in:
  Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research
• Proficiency in Python and AI libraries (eg
• Knowledge of key machine learning algorithms
• Experience with data cleaning, preparation, and feature engineering
• Problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills
• Advantageous:
  Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and MLOps tools
