Information Security Analyst - SOC

Our client is seeking a vigilant Information Security Analyst specializing in Security Operations Center (SOC) functions. This role operates under a hybrid model, offering a mix of office-based work in Sandton and remote flexibility. You will be at the forefront of threat detection, analysis, and response, monitoring security systems and investigating potential security incidents. This position is crucial for maintaining the security and integrity of the company's digital environment and is ideal for an analyst passionate about real-time threat intelligence and incident handling.

• Monitor security alerts from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoints) in real-time.
• Analyze security events to identify potential threats, intrusions, and policy violations.
• Respond to security incidents according to established procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conduct threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate emerging threats.
• Document security incidents, analysis, and remediation actions thoroughly.
• Collaborate with other IT and security teams to improve security controls and processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar security analysis role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and concepts, as well as common attack vectors and malware types.
• Understanding of network protocols and security principles.
• Ability to work shifts if required, and adapt to a hybrid work environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
