Senior Telecoms Network Security Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Network Security Engineer to bolster their security infrastructure in Sandton . You will design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents. • Design, deploy, and maintain robust security measures for the telecom network , including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures across the organization.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed analysis and remediation plans.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the telecom industry .
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into network designs and implementations.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in network security engineering , specifically within a telecommunications environment.
• Deep understanding of security protocols, encryption standards, and threat mitigation techniques.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and endpoint security solutions.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSE, GSEC) are highly desirable.
