Procurement Officer - Indirect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer specializing in indirect spend to join their team in Sandton . This hybrid role involves managing the acquisition of non-production goods and services, such as IT, marketing, HR, and facilities. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of procurement best practices, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement function.

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for indirect categories, ensuring compliance and value.
• Conduct sourcing events, including RFx processes, and lead negotiations with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
• Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect spend management.
• Proven ability in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
