Day Porter​/Cleaning Attendant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable and diligent Day Porter / Cleaning Attendant to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of their commercial property in Sandton during operational hours. This role is vital for maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. You will perform a variety of cleaning and light maintenance tasks, respond to immediate cleaning needs, and ensure common areas, restrooms, and individual offices are kept to a high standard throughout the day.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent customer service skills. This is an essential on-site role focused on day-to-day facility maintenance and presentation.

• Perform daily cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and window cleaning.
• Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas regularly.
• Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
• Respond promptly to spills or other immediate cleaning needs throughout the building.
• Conduct light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to the supervisor.

• Previous experience as a day porter, cleaner, or janitor is required.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high cleaning standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and lift up to 20kg.
