Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker to contribute to their maintenance and repair operations in Sandton. This role requires precision and expertise in fabricating, fitting, and repairing aircraft structures using various sheet metal techniques. You will work with a variety of materials to ensure the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft. This is a hands-on position for a craftsman who takes pride in their work and understands the critical importance of structural soundness in aviation safety.

• Fabricate, form, and install sheet metal parts for aircraft structures according to blueprints and specifications.
• Perform repairs on damaged aircraft skins, bulkheads, and structural components using riveting, patching, and bonding techniques.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical data.
• Measure, cut, drill, and shape metal stock accurately.
• Operate sheet metal shop equipment, including brakes, shears, and punches.
• Ensure all work meets strict quality standards and regulatory requirements.

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker or in a related structural repair role.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings related to aircraft structures.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools common to sheet metal fabrication and repair.
• Experience with various aircraft metals, including aluminum alloys and composites.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and procedures.
