About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Production Chemist to join their operational team in Sandton . This role is integral to ensuring the quality and efficiency of chemical processes and products within their Oil & Gas operations . You will be responsible for developing and implementing chemical treatment programs, monitoring process parameters, and troubleshooting chemical-related issues. This hands‑on position offers the chance to apply your expertise in industrial chemistry to critical operational challenges and contribute to the company's success in the Gauteng province.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage chemical treatment programs for production facilities, ensuring optimal performance and asset integrity.
- Conduct laboratory analysis to monitor water quality, corrosion rates, and the effectiveness of chemical treatments.
- Troubleshoot chemical‑related operational problems and recommend effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to ensure proper application and handling of chemicals.
- Maintain detailed records of chemical usage, performance data, and analytical results.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new chemical technologies relevant to the Oil & Gas sector .
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in production chemistry or industrial chemistry, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Strong understanding of water treatment, corrosion inhibition, and emulsion breaking principles.
- Proficiency in analytical laboratory techniques and equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
