About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on Plant Operations to join their team in Sandton . This role is essential for driving efficiency, optimizing production lines, and implementing best practices within their manufacturing facilities. You will work closely with plant management and operational staff to analyze workflows, identify areas for improvement, and deploy solutions that enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and committed to achieving tangible improvements in manufacturing output and quality.
- Analyze plant operations to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement process improvements for production lines, material handling, and facility layout.
- Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and work measurement to optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with production teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key plant processes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational performance and project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, specifically within plant operations.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and simulation software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with diverse plant personnel.
