Welder - Structural Steel

Our client is seeking a skilled and certified Welder specializing in Structural Steel to join their fabrication team in Sandton. This role involves executing high-quality welding operations to construct and repair steel structures according to detailed specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate will possess excellent craftsmanship, a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently and precisely to meet production demands.

You will play a crucial part in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of fabricated steel components for various projects in the Gauteng region.

• Perform welding operations (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) on structural steel components with precision and care.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
• Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting.
• Inspect welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to standards, performing necessary repairs.
• Operate welding equipment safely and maintain it in good working condition.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and workplace procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

• Proven experience as a Welder, with a specialization in structural steel.
• Relevant trade certification or proven competency in various welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.
• Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
• Experience with metal fabrication and related tools is advantageous.
