Our client is seeking a hands-on and technically adept Field Operations Technician to join their team in Sandton . This role is essential for the daily operation and maintenance of oil and gas production facilities. You will be responsible for monitoring equipment, performing routine checks, troubleshooting minor issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all production assets. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and an ability to work effectively in a field-based environment, collaborating closely with production engineers and other field personnel to maintain optimal production levels and asset integrity.
Your practical skills will be key to the smooth running of operations.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on production equipment, including pumps, valves, and separators.
- Monitor production processes and parameters, ensuring they operate within specified limits.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, performing minor repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Accurately record operational data, production volumes, and maintenance activities.
- Respond to operational emergencies and assist in the implementation of corrective actions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Field Operations Technician or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
- Basic understanding of oil and gas production processes and equipment.
- Knowledge of HSE procedures and safe work practices in a field environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
