About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist to join their leading Immunology research group in Sandton . This role is vital for advancing our understanding of immune system function and developing novel immunotherapies. You will lead key research projects, design and execute complex experiments, and contribute significantly to the scientific direction of the team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in immunology, a strong track record of scientific achievement, and a passion for translating fundamental research into potential clinical applications, working within a state-of-the-art research facility in Sandton .
Key Responsibilities- Lead independent research projects focused on understanding immune mechanisms in health and disease.
- Design, perform, and interpret complex immunological assays, including flow cytometry, ELISpot, and cytokine analysis.
- Develop and validate novel experimental models and techniques to investigate immune responses.
- Mentor junior scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
- Analyze and present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.
- Contribute to grant writing and manuscript preparation for publication in high-impact journals.
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience in immunology research.
- Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of immunological techniques and principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of complex biological datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and manage laboratory operations.
