About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Biostatistician to join their data-driven clinical research team in Sandton. In this role, you will be responsible for the statistical design of clinical trials and the rigorous analysis of complex clinical data to support drug development. Your expertise will be essential in interpreting study results and contributing to regulatory submissions. This is a key position within a leading pharmaceutical organization, offering the chance to apply advanced statistical methodologies to impactful research within the bustling Gauteng financial hub.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design clinical trial statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and specify study endpoints.
  • Perform statistical analyses of clinical trial data using SAS or R, including data exploration, hypothesis testing, and modeling.
  • Interpret statistical results and collaborate with medical writers to prepare clinical study reports (CSRs) and regulatory submission documents.
  • Provide statistical expertise and consultation to clinical development teams, study statisticians, and project managers.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of statistical analyses through rigorous validation and documentation processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative statistical methodologies for clinical trial design and analysis.
Requirements
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Biostatistician in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS (preferred) or R, including experience with advanced statistical techniques.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial design, drug development processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, essential for working within multidisciplinary teams.
