Our client is seeking a highly skilled Research Chemist with expertise in inorganic materials to join their cutting-edge research and development team in Sandton . This position is critical for the discovery, synthesis, and characterization of novel inorganic compounds and materials for advanced technological applications. You will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, utilizing sophisticated analytical techniques, and collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers to drive innovation from concept to prototype.
This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to breakthrough material science research.
- Synthesize and characterize novel inorganic materials, including catalysts, ceramics, and composite materials.
- Employ advanced analytical techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, and TGA for material characterization.
- Investigate structure-property relationships of synthesized inorganic materials.
- Optimize synthesis procedures for scalability and performance enhancement.
- Document research findings, prepare technical reports, and contribute to patent applications.
- Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials.
- Proficiency with relevant characterization techniques and instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of solid-state chemistry and materials science principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
