Our client is actively seeking a dynamic Lead Formulation Scientist to drive innovation in their product development department in Sandton . This leadership role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of novel formulations for our client's diverse product lines. You will lead a team of scientists and technicians, oversee formulation projects from concept to commercialization, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficacy.

- Lead the development and optimization of new product formulations, ensuring desired performance characteristics.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate formulation stability, efficacy, and safety.
- Oversee the scale-up of formulation processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial production.
- Mentor and guide junior formulation scientists and technicians, fostering scientific rigor and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing.
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements in formulation science.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in formulation development, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven expertise in various formulation techniques and characterization methods.
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle, scale-up principles, and GMP requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
