Role PurposeThe Employee Benefits Growth & Solutions Manager is responsible for supporting sustainable growth across Guardrisk Life by identifying, developing and converting Employee Benefits opportunities. The role strengthens CRS’s market-facing capability by building trusted relationships with consultants, intermediaries, clients, distribution partners and internal stakeholders, and by developing commercially viable solutions across cell captive arrangements, participation models, risk-sharing structures, affinity structures and conventional insurance propositions.
This is a commercially focused Employee Benefits role that requires strong market presence, technical credibility, relationship management capability and the ability to work with internal specialists to develop practical solutions. The role is specifically focused on growth, solution development and strategic Employee Benefits market engagement. It is not a pure sales, actuarial, pricing or servicing role but a combination of these functions within the Employee Benefits market.
Requirements FORMALEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Actuarial Science, Insurance, Business Science, Economics, Law or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification or relevant professional designation would be advantageous.
- FAIS compliance required, where applicable to the role.
- RE5 advantageous.
- Employee Benefits, group risk, insurance, risk management or related industry certification would be advantageous.
- 5–10 years’ experience in life insurance, Employee Benefits, group risk, corporate consulting or a related financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of the Employee Benefits market, including group risk products, benefit structures, consultant channels and related insurance solutions.
- Proven client, intermediary or consultant-facing experience, including senior stakeholder engagement and strategic account management.
- Experience identifying, developing and progressing commercial growth opportunities from market engagement through to practical solution development.
- Experience in solution development, benefit design, commercial structuring, business case development or tender responses.
- Ability to work with actuarial, pricing, finance, legal, compliance and operations teams to develop commercially viable and practical solutions.
- Understanding of insurance operating models, risk-sharing arrangements, cell captive structures or participation models would be advantageous.
- Identify, develop and convert Employee Benefits growth opportunities across Guardrisk Life.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with consultants, intermediaries, employers, affinity partners and other market participants.
- Use market insight, consultant feedback and client engagement to identify emerging opportunities within the Employee Benefits sector.
- Support the expansion of existing portfolios through cross-selling, benefit enhancement and new solution opportunities.
- Act as relationship lead for selected strategic accounts and growth opportunities.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, intermediaries, cell participants and strategic partners.
- Conduct regular commercial engagement to understand stakeholder objectives, challenges and future requirements.
- Take commercial and relationship ownership of selected strategic portfolios, with a focus on retention, growth, issue resolution and broader opportunity development.
