Our client is seeking a proactive Automotive Cybersecurity Specialist to join their hybrid team in Sandton . In this vital role, you will be responsible for safeguarding connected vehicle systems against evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity measures, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of vehicle data and functionality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of automotive technology security, collaborating with diverse teams to build the secure vehicles of the future.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and architectures for connected automotive systems.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities through threat modeling, risk assessments, and penetration testing.
- Design and deploy security controls for in-vehicle networks (e.g., CAN bus, Automotive Ethernet) and cloud-based services.
- Monitor security incidents, investigate breaches, and develop response plans.
- Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 21434, UN R155).
- Collaborate with software development, hardware engineering, and supply chain teams to embed security throughout the product lifecycle.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends relevant to the automotive industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on automotive applications or embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of cryptography, network security protocols, and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
- Experience with security tools for analysis, monitoring, and testing.
