Senior C# .NET Systems Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior C# .NET Systems Engineer (Azure Dev Ops & Automation) to join a leading enterprise environment in Sandton on a 12-month contract.

This role combines C#/.NET software development, test automation, Azure Dev Ops integration, and systems engineering support. The successful candidate will be responsible for building scalable solutions, enhancing automation capabilities, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and supporting enterprise production systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and .NET / .NET Core
• Build and enhance automation solutions and test automation frameworks
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts (Selenium preferred)
• Integrate test automation into Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines
• Manage test execution using Azure Test Plans
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services
• Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and automated testing
• Participate in system design, code reviews, and technical troubleshooting
• Support production environments, including incident resolution and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Business teams
• Adhere to governance, security, and compliance standards
• Contribute to Agile delivery and continuous improvement initiatives

• Minimum 5 years' experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET / .NET Core
• Experience with Selenium test automation
• Experience integrating automation into Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge of Azure Test Plans
• Experience in automation development, scripting, or process automation
• Solid understanding of RESTful API development
• Database experience with SQL Server or similar
• Experience with Git version control
• Understanding of SDLC, Dev Ops practices, and Agile methodologies
