• Assist physicians with patient care and provide information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services.
• Perform clinical duties including monitoring patient flow, obtaining and documenting patient vitals, current medications, chief complaint.
• Perform technical laboratory functions such as phlebotomy, EKG, stress testing and monitor/track/charge medical equipment.
• Schedule procedures and tests.
• Conduct office duties such as greeting patients, vendors, and other visitors, notifying appropriate staff of their arrival.
• Operate switchboard/telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls.
• Obtain current and accurate insurance information, verify coverage, obtain pre‑certifications or prior authorizations as needed.
• Maintain daily accurate records for timely billing of accounts.
• Notify patients of account status and payments due using collection techniques to assist in keeping accounts receivable current.

• High school graduate.
• Medical Assistant certification required.
• Experience in a medical office, sleep lab or urgent care setting preferred.
• Ability to perform as a Medical Scribe from time‑to‑time.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Proficient in personal computer use with strong typing skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word desired.
• Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, co‑workers and the public.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with medical and administrative staff, patients, co‑workers and insurance companies.
• Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
