SUMMARY: Individuals in this position assemble company products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble company products at standard rate
• Follow written work instructions and complete required quality documents
• Accurately post transactions using shop floor data collection devices
• Interpret mechanical drawings to assemble products correctly
• Use personal hand tools as needed to assist in the assembly process
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to pass a pre-employment math and measurement test
• Proficient in using measuring equipment (preferred)
• Ability to read mechanical drawings with minimal assistance (preferred)
• Understanding of dimensional tolerances (preferred)
• Able to read a tape measure to 1/16" accuracy

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Basic reading and writing skills
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals
• Basic keyboarding skills including how to print documents

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the non-air conditioned work environment is usually moderate. All required PPE, including steel toe shoes, must be worn and a clean work environment must be maintained.
