Shift Manager in Training

This position is for a Shift Manager in Training. Ideal candidates should have previous Manager experience. A background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. You must be 18 years or older for this position.

If you do not have previous Shift Leader experience, please consider applying for a Maintenance or Crew position.

Responsibilities
  • Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
  • Lead the experience:
    Oversee and lead crew and other managers on your shift.
  • Inspire and empower:
    Provide encouraging leadership for crew and managers to provide an outstanding guest experience.
  • Understand that teamwork is key:
    Supervise and lead food safety and cleanliness measures to meet McDonald’s standards.
  • Take action first:
    Take measures around safety, security, inventory, and profitability.
  • Never stop learning:
    Cultivate and encourage training, education, and continued learning within the restaurant.
  • Be results oriented:
    Drive and expect a high level of performance from the team.
Typical Tasks
  • Planning for each shift.
  • Monitoring performance during the shift.
  • Taking action to ensure the team meets McDonald’s standards.
  • Monitoring safety, security, and profitability.
  • Communicating with other Shift Managers and crew.
  • Motivating, delegating, and coaching the team.
  • Completing assigned cleanliness tasks.
  • Completing assigned planned maintenance tasks.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Previous managerial experience, ideally within a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment.

  • Ability to provide solutions and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
