Joining H&R Block
* as an experienced Bookkeeper, you’ll deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. You’ll be an integral part of delivering on our brand purpose to provide help and inspire communities everywhere.

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
• Reconcile and balance accounts
• Generate and analyze financial statements
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to obtain them
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and regulations
• Maintain confidentiality with professionalism and discretion
• Analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multitask and work independently

• Experience with Xero accounting software

This office is an independently owned franchise operating under an agreement with H&R Block. Franchisees make their own hiring decisions.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Local minimum wage laws apply. Compensation will depend on experience, education, skills, performance, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
