Lead Operator

The primary responsibility of the Lead Operator is to operate, maintain and oversee the operation and maintenance (O & M) of wastewater systems in their assigned area. The Lead Operator will be the point of contact, coordinator of tasks associated with system O & M, and be responsible for work performed by service and operators under their direction.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience as a licensed wastewater/water operator, or equivalent education and experience, including treatment plants, collection/distribution systems and pump/booster stations.
  • Must possess a Grade 5C issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or equivalent in CT, NH, or RI.
  • Ability and willingness to fulfill on-call duties both nights and weekends.
  • Ability to review, interpret and utilize information found in blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of states that encompass the assigned service area.
  • Ability to utilize computers, tablets and/or other electronic devices.
  • OSHA 10 General Industry Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
  • Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
