Embedded Software Engineer
Multi Sensor AI (MSAI) delivers real-time insight into critical mechanical and electrical assets through a full-stack platform that combines advanced thermal, acoustic, vibration, and laser spectroscopy sensors with AWS-powered edge and cloud software. The company’s solutions are deployed across logistics, manufacturing, utilities, and oil & gas, helping organizations predict issues before they occur. MSAI’s technology is designed to prevent downtime, increase operational efficiency, and improve site safety.
Team members collaborate at the intersection of hardware, embedded systems, and AI-driven analytics to solve complex industrial reliability challenges.
The Engineering Manager, Embedded & Hardware Delivery is a full-time, on-site hybrid role based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. This role leads a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering embedded systems and sensor hardware for MSAI’s industrial monitoring platform. Sync with the Engineering Manager of Software Design & Enterprise Architecture to ensure software functions, releases and enterprise architecture changes are tied to upcoming hardware deliveries with roadmap alignment.
Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and prioritizing engineering work, overseeing embedded firmware and hardware development, and coordinating cross-functional projects with product, data, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of edge devices with software platforms. The Engineering Manager will establish technical standards, review designs and code, manage vendor and manufacturing relationships, and drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and scalability.
This role also involves mentoring team members, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Qualifications- Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary hardware and embedded systems teams.
- Hands-on background in Software Development for embedded systems, including experience with firmware, real-time operating systems, and device-level communication protocols.
- Proficiency in Project Management and Integration, including planning, execution, risk management, and aligning hardware, firmware, and cloud components into cohesive solutions.
- Experience with sensor hardware (thermal, acoustic, vibration, spectroscopy) and embedded platforms, including board bring-up, testing, and validation.
- Familiarity with industrial or IoT environments, edge computing, and cloud services (preferably AWS) for device management and data processing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, operations, and data/ML teams, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams and supporting professional growth for engineers with diverse backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing and R&D.
- Act as the primary alignment point between software and cloud engineering sprints and hardware manufacturing and procurement timelines, keeping both sides working from a shared, realistic delivery plan.
- Partner closely and on a recurring cadence with the Engineering Manager of Software Design & Enterprise Architecture to map which software functions and release updates are tied to specific hardware deliveries, so firmware, cloud, and application changes land in step with device and manufacturing timelines rather than ahead of or behind them.
- Own the test and qualification layer for connected hardware products, driving improvements in quality…
