Optometric Technician

Experience

• Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role required

• Conduct pre-testing of patients, including NCT, autorefraction, lensometry, screening visual fields, and Retinal Photography, visual acuities, etc.
• Cleaning of the pre-test area and equipment before each patient use.
• Contact lens training- instructing patients on how to care for, insert, and remove contact lenses.
• Special testing as directed by the Doctor.
• Assisting patients in completing any paperwork reasonably necessary for the operation of the Practice.
• Computer Tasks. Administering standard day-to-day computer tasks (Data entry into Electronic Medical Records system).
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and ocular anatomy.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Proficient in using electronic medical record systems for documentation.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
