Location:
Atlanta, GA. Salary: $53,000 - $55,000 per year.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of weekly payroll changes and support day-to-day payroll functions.
- Maintain and update payroll records in Workday.
- Assist in payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year‑end processes.
- Create new‑hire personnel files on the HR shared drive.
- Backup for child‑support with holdings/garnishments for employees.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Process weekly payroll transmission, including submitting the wire transfer.
- Generate reports requested by other departments.
- Communicate with Human Resources, General Managers, and Regional Operations Managers regarding payroll questions.
- Ensure accurate processing of payroll updates (new hires, terminations, pay‑rate changes, direct deposits, garnishments).
- Prepare and maintain accurate payroll‑transaction records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Assist with quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual state/local/federal government reporting.
- Assist with document gathering for annual financial audits.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Payroll Manager.
- Minimum 3 years recent experience with Workday software.
- Minimum 3 years multi‑state payroll experience.
- High School Diploma required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Superior listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all employee levels, client‑facing and internal.
- Strong organizational/time management skills, a team player capable of working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, flexibility, and problem‑solving skills.
- Must be able to read, speak, understand, and write English.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion handling confidential information.
- Physical presence required in Atlanta office (hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 days onsite). Remote outside of company guidelines not permitted.
- Effectively manage high‑stress situations and multitask/prioritize deadlines.
- Dependability and reliability critical due to weekly payroll schedule.
- Ability to make sound, clear, and concise decisions.
- Work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with co‑workers.
- Typical in‑office environment – moderate noise level, open cubicle environment.
- Indoor work with complex and carpeted surfaces.
- Sitting for eight‑hour shifts; occasional standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Frequent lifting or moving up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
- Extensive use of hands and fingers for keyboard manipulation and answering phone calls (100%).
- Use of computer terminal, requiring extensive eye contact with a video display terminal.
