DescriptionAnimal Emergency Center of Sandy Springs (AEC Sandy Springs) is seeking a seasoned, people-focused, and financially savvy Practice Manager to lead our established emergency and critical care veterinary hospital in the Sandy Springs/Atlanta market.
This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced veterinary practice manager who thrives in a fast-paced emergency environment and is energized by team development, operational excellence, and sustainable financial growth
. You will partner closely with our Medical Director to strengthen our long-standing reputation while advancing our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) brand across the greater Atlanta area.

, AEC Sandy Springs is deeply rooted in the region and poised for continued growth. AEC Sandy Springs provides overnight, weekend, and holiday emergency and critical care for dogs and cats, serving Sandy Springs and surrounding communities.
The Practice Manager is responsible for hospital operations, financial performance, team leadership, and client experience
. This role requires a confident, emotionally intelligent leader who can balance the demands of emergency medicine while building a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

, with direct influence on hospital growth, staff engagement, and operational success.
- Hospital Operations & Performance
- Lead day-to-day operations of a high-volume emergency and critical care hospital
- Optimize workflow, scheduling, and interdepartmental coordination
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal veterinary regulations
- Maintain and evolve hospital SOPs and operational standards
- Financial Leadership & Growth
- Own and manage hospital financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance
- Monitor KPIs, revenue drivers, labor costs, and expense control
- Partner with leadership on pricing strategies, service mix optimization, and growth initiatives
- Drive data-informed decision-making to support long-term sustainability
- Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of emergency veterinarians, specialists, technicians, and support staff
- Foster a DEI-inclusive, psychologically safe, and collaborative workplace
- Support performance management, professional development, and succession planning
- Promote staff engagement, retention, and well-being in a high-acuity environment
- Human Resources & Staffing
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention strategies
- Ensure appropriate staffing coverage for overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Partner with HR on employee relations, performance reviews, and compliance
- Client Experience & Community Presence
- Champion a compassionate, client-centered experience from intake through discharge
- Address client concerns with professionalism, empathy, and transparency
- Build referral relationships with local veterinary practices
- Represent AEC Sandy Springs at community and industry events
- Emergency & Critical Care Coordination
- Support seamless collaboration between ER clinicians and specialists
- Ensure protocols are in place for triage, critical cases, and surge capacity
- Maintain readiness for high-pressure, time-sensitive medical situations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of veterinary practice management experience
, required - Emergency and/or specialty veterinary hospital experience preferred
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (
CVPM
) or equivalent certification preferred - Proven experience managing budgets, P&L statements, and financial reporting
- Strong working knowledge of veterinary practice management software (Avimark, Vetter, eVetPractice, or similar)
