Overview
Sr Regulatory & Compliance Engineer (Sandy, UT - Hybrid) ngear designs and manufactures data center and remote site management products. The company serves tech unicorns and Fortune 100 companies and provides out-of-band IT infrastructure management solutions. This position is based in Sandy, Utah with hybrid work options.
What You Will Do- Lead and support regulatory compliance activities across engineering teams, ensuring adherence to global standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation, including technical files, declarations, and certifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze product features and country-specific requirements to define regulatory strategies.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor type approval tests and certifications for domestic and international markets.
- Prepare hardware and software for compliance testing, including sample modifications and shipment coordination.
- Interface with third-party laboratories and service houses to facilitate testing and certification processes.
- Monitor and evaluate new and changing regulations, norms, and standards, and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
- Support internal audits and conformity assessments for manufacturing and engineering operations.
- Train technicians and engineers on compliance procedures and test support equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of global compliance requirements and testing activities.
- Act as the point of contact for compliance determination and regulatory inquiries.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend tools and methods to enhance regulatory workflows.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes.
- 8-10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 6-8 years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, REACH, etc.).
- Experience with product certification processes and working with regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with compliance testing procedures and documentation requirements.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with internal audits and risk assessments.
