Overview
Analyst role at Sunwest Bank. Under the direction of the Chief Banking Officer, provides direct support to commercial Relationship Managers to develop and analyze credit information for more complex commercial real estate and business loans. Prepares thorough analyses of business and/or personal financial statements and presents facts; expected to provide personal analytical opinions concerning creditworthiness of existing borrowers and prospects.
Responsibilities- Interact directly with the President, Chief Banking Officer, Relationship Managers, Credit Administration officers, and customers/prospects regarding commercial real estate and business loans.
- Maintain an assigned/delegate loan portfolio as the secondary Relationship Manager.
- Prepare accurate financial statement spreadsheets and debt service analyses derived from business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
- Prepare accurate credit authorizations in conjunction with Relationship Managers and present a complete and thorough analysis of existing and potential borrowers.
- Recognize customer requests; develop cross-sell opportunities with existing customers.
- Refer loan opportunities to lending personnel as appropriate.
- Interact with customers/prospects to request financial information to complete spreading presentations and other financial analyses without direction.
- Review loan agreement covenants for verification of borrower compliance.
- Accurately prepare financial projections as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date tracking log of all activity and credit arrangements in process.
- Collect industry information relevant to existing and proposed borrowers using internal and external sources.
- Consult with the President, Chief Banking Officer, Relationship Managers and other Credit Administration officers on credit structure, pricing, collateral and other credit considerations.
- Conduct trade and reference checks on customers/prospects.
- Review documentation to ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Perform special projects as designated by leadership.
- Ensure regulatory and policy compliance with state and federal requirements (e.g., BSA/AML/CIP, CRA, OFAC, Fair Lending) and applicable regulations.
- Attend training to maintain knowledge of procedures and regulatory requirements governing financial institutions.
- Engage in telemarketing and external business development of new clients to the bank.
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
- Interact with leadership, Relationship Managers, Credit Administration officers, and customers/prospects regarding commercial real estate and business loans.

- Attend events outside of work as applicable.
- Additional duties as assigned related to the position.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong, intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, tax return analysis and analytical interpretation of balance sheet and income statement analysis and cash flow.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Intermediate working knowledge of loan documentation.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work from multiple sources.
