Assistant ControllerThe Assistant Controller assists in overseeing all the project accounting in their respective business unit and manages the project accountants assigned to their business unit. They are responsible for identifying, managing, and reporting all the financial risk in their respective business unit. The Assistant Controller also assists with the strategic development and budget formulation for the assigned business unit. They work closely with the Controller and Business Unit leaders to report on financial performance, forecast operations, and cost and budget targets each month.
Responsibilities- Oversee all business unit project accounting.
- Manage and develop all the project accountants in the business unit.
- Update and track forecasts and budgets.
- Create all financial reports required to support business unit decisions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Manage the process of filing and paying indirect taxes and resolve tax audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Understands and applies principles of financial risk management.
- Excellent knowledge of basic accounting functions.
- Knowledge of current events that impact the SBU’s business.
- Expert at Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent communicator.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting.
- Demonstrates the ability to work individually or as part of a team and meets deadlines.
- Integrity and maintains normal standards of ethics, conduct, and organizational policies in job-related activities.
- CPA credential preferred.
- Experience with CMiC preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with sales tax, use tax and other indirect tax.
