Description

Opengear designs and manufactures products for data center and remote site management. We are a rapidly growing supplier of sophisticated data center, network and remote site management products. Our customers include tech unicorns and Fortune 100 companies. We are the leading supplier of out-of-band solutions for IT infrastructure management and are actively exploring new solutions for hyper-scale data center deployment and management.

We are a global company with offices in Brisbane, Australia and Sandy, Utah.

Opengear is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives within the Engineering organization. In this role, you will manage the development and implementation processes for Opengear products, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other technical disciplines. You will define project plans and schedules, identify required resources, track progress, manage risk, and ensure timely delivery of complex, multi-phase technical projects.

The Sr. Project Manager role operates with minimal supervision, exercising strong independent judgment, and often functions as a leader for both technical and cross-functional project teams. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of project management frameworks, engineering workflows, and org coordination.

What We Offer

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level project manager to influence execution strategy, streamline delivery processes, and help bring industry-leading network resilience solutions to market. You’ll work with high-performing teams, operate with significant autonomy, and play a key role in aligning execution with product strategy. If you’re passionate about driving clarity, removing roadblocks, and enabling technical teams to deliver exceptional results—this is the role for you.

What

You Will Do
  • Drive end-to-end project management for multiple engineering initiatives across the product development lifecycle
  • Define and maintain project scope, schedules, resources, milestones, and risk mitigation plans
  • Coordinate activities across internal teams (Engineering, QA, Product, Operations, Support) and third-party vendors when applicable
  • Serve as primary point of contact for project status, updates, and stakeholder communication
  • Track project execution against objectives, proactively identify risks or delays, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate agile or hybrid project workflows including sprint planning, retrospectives, and issue tracking
  • Support process improvements, best practices, and tool adoption across the engineering project portfolio
Who You Are and What You Bring
  • 5 years of experience leading technical or product development projects in a software or engineering environment
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical projects involving cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar tools for project tracking and resource planning
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of driving clarity through structured execution
Desired But Not Required
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems or regulated environments
  • Background in product development lifecycle or release management
  • Familiarity with budget tracking and case development
  • Prior exposure to Agile, hybrid, or Scaled Agile frameworks
