Job Requirements
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Excellent verbal, written, consensus building and relationship-building skills are essential
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and other federal, state and local environmental health and safety laws
- Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
- Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
- Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and measurement of safety program and culture
- Champion employee growth and development with training programs
- Empower employees to behave safely throughout the Company
- Deploy proactive processes, systems, tools and metrics to drive the safety department’s improvement
- Implement awareness/branding campaigns and techniques to facilitate a Zero Harm culture
- Lead approach to making safety a competitive differentiation in Business Development
- Implement rigorous oversight process to ensure ongoing corporate compliance with all applicable safety regulations
- Develop, review, and enforce corporate and site-specific safety policies and procedures
- Address specific reporting and record keeping requirements of OSHA, MSHA, and other compliance matters.
- Monitor monthly safety meetings and training conducted at job site locations
- Compile reports addressing the efforts and effectiveness of the local meetings to corporate, regional and local management.
- Facilitate incident investigation, root cause analysis, site remediation, and closure of corrective actions
- Seek and share best practices within and across the organization
- Develop, collect and report performance metrics and regularly brief senior leadership regarding safety compliance
- Appropriately allocate safety resources throughout Company’s operations
- Directly supervise safety personnel in branch locations and assigned at headquarters
- Developing and executing health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
