Overview
Line Shift Supervisor - Nights at BD Nogales Norte. This role will manage a small group of associates and own the performance of the output for the assigned manufacturing line during the night shift.
Guide line activities by mentoring associates on a continuous improvement path in daily manufacturing tasks and BD Excellence initiatives.
Responsibilities- Spend 100% of time on the production floor except for required meetings or performance conversations with associates.
- Proactively anticipate and address problems before they impact production.
- Support timely resolution of line issues, demonstrate servant leadership, and adhere to BD Values.
- Ensure root cause analyses are conducted timely with appropriate corrective actions implemented.
- Daily touchpoints with line associates to support Equipment Owner (EO) program covering Safety, Quality, AM defect tagging, 5S, CILTs, Centerlining, TPM, breakdowns, and top losses.
- Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
- Maintain open communication between production associates and management; represent concerns in both directions.
- Prepare and run Tier 1 production meetings and align with the Line Centric Organization (LCO) team.
- Ensure daily Pit Stops, daily targets, goals, and issues are updated on the Primary Visual Display (PVD).
- Focus line resources to support any quality or line issues as they occur.
- Communicate results and escalate issues to the Line Leader.
- Manage Kanban and work order setup, material reconciliation, and ensure accuracy of quality checks and documentation.
- Staffing and training plans within the line for the assigned shift; apply company policies consistently.
- Resolve employee relations issues with associates and involve HR when needed.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment
- BA/BS Degree – Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering or related field
- 1 year of people leadership experience
- Technical amplitude and basic understanding of machinery
- Leadership skills
- Attention to detail
- Effective communication
- Ability to read, write and speak English
