Line Shift Supervisor - Nights

Overview

Line Shift Supervisor - Nights at BD Nogales Norte. This role will manage a small group of associates and own the performance of the output for the assigned manufacturing line during the night shift.

Guide line activities by mentoring associates on a continuous improvement path in daily manufacturing tasks and BD Excellence initiatives.

• Spend 100% of time on the production floor except for required meetings or performance conversations with associates.
• Proactively anticipate and address problems before they impact production.
• Support timely resolution of line issues, demonstrate servant leadership, and adhere to BD Values.
• Ensure root cause analyses are conducted timely with appropriate corrective actions implemented.
• Daily touchpoints with line associates to support Equipment Owner (EO) program covering Safety, Quality, AM defect tagging, 5S, CILTs, Centerlining, TPM, breakdowns, and top losses.
• Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
• Maintain open communication between production associates and management; represent concerns in both directions.
• Prepare and run Tier 1 production meetings and align with the Line Centric Organization (LCO) team.
• Ensure daily Pit Stops, daily targets, goals, and issues are updated on the Primary Visual Display (PVD).
• Focus line resources to support any quality or line issues as they occur.
• Communicate results and escalate issues to the Line Leader.
• Manage Kanban and work order setup, material reconciliation, and ensure accuracy of quality checks and documentation.
• Staffing and training plans within the line for the assigned shift; apply company policies consistently.
• Resolve employee relations issues with associates and involve HR when needed.

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment

• BA/BS Degree – Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering or related field
• 1 year of people leadership experience
• Technical amplitude and basic understanding of machinery
