Job Summary

The Production Molding Operator – DMT i reports directly to an assigned Operations Leader and is responsible for material handling, conducting light product inspection, and housekeeping activities for an assigned set of injection molding presses to supply downstream equipment with quality molded components.

Shift

This is a 12‑hour rotating A shift (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Employees are scheduled to work 7 days in a 14‑day period (2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off). Every other weekend is scheduled off.

Responsibilities
  • Packaging, labeling, and handling of product and movement to specified locations.
  • Perform limited product visual and manual inspections.
  • Learn and maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of all products produced in the department, as well as all product quality specifications.
  • Keep machinery, work area and floors neat and orderly and comply with good manufacturing practices requirements.
  • Must be able to work optimally in a team with limited supervision.
  • Understand and interpret controlled documents including work instructions, procedures, and inspection forms.
  • Notify CILL and DMT II’s of any equipment issues.
  • Work with molding team members to keep equipment running during breaks and callouts.
  • Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education:

    HS/GED degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    Prefer, but not limited to 0‑1 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably injection molding presses (both electric & hydraulic).
Work Environment & Essential Physical Functions
  • This position is in a clean room or laboratory manufacturing environment.

  • Employee may be frequently required to stand and/or occasionally sit for extended periods of time; bending, stooping, reaching, walking, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type including repetitive motion of wrists, hands, or fingers.
  • Employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 20 lbs., frequently lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally pull/push up to 30 lbs., frequently push/pull up to 10 lbs., frequently carry up to 5 lbs.
  • Position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment and potential temperature fluctuations.
  • Occasionally exposure to fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, cleaning compounds and solvents.
  • Exposure to noise levels moderate to loud.
  • Employees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and sufficient hearing.
  • Incumbent must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as safety glasses, face mask, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net, and smock.
