Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Humanities

OR

Master's degree in Liberal Arts with a Humanities core

OR

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in at least two of the following:

• American Studies with a Humanities focus
• Anthropology
• Art Appreciation/History
• Classics
• Cultural Studies (e.g. Popular Culture, American Culture, Asian Culture, or African American Culture)
• Drama
• English/Creative Writing
• Foreign Languages with a Humanities focus
• History;
  Humanities;
  Interdisciplinary Studies with Humanities focus
• Liberal/General Studies with Humanities focus
• Literature (in English, Modern, and/or Classical Languages e.g. Spanish, Greek, Japanese);
  Music;
  Philosophy
• Religion/Theology
• Theatre and Western/Eastern Civilization

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching.
• Teaching experience desired.

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills

• A personal and professional commitment to creating an atmosphere of quality instruction at SSC.
• English reading, writing and speaking skills at the native level of fluency.
• Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
• Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.

This is a Pool Position - Part-time faculty positions are filled based on enrollment.
