Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Humanities
OR
Master's degree in Liberal Arts with a Humanities core
OR
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in at least two of the following:
- American Studies with a Humanities focus
- Anthropology
- Art Appreciation/History
- Classics
- Cultural Studies (e.g. Popular Culture, American Culture, Asian Culture, or African American Culture)
- Drama
- English/Creative Writing
- Foreign Languages with a Humanities focus
- History;
Humanities;
Interdisciplinary Studies with Humanities focus - Liberal/General Studies with Humanities focus
- Literature (in English, Modern, and/or Classical Languages e.g. Spanish, Greek, Japanese);
Music;
Philosophy - Religion/Theology
- Theatre and Western/Eastern Civilization
- Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching.
- Teaching experience desired.
- A personal and professional commitment to creating an atmosphere of quality instruction at SSC.
- English reading, writing and speaking skills at the native level of fluency.
- Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
- Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.

This is a Pool Position - Part-time faculty positions are filled based on enrollment. While a posting may exist on our website, there may or may not be a need at this time; however, submitted applications remain active for one academic year and are available for the Department Dean to review on an ongoing basis.
