Overview

Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses, develop and post syllabi, prepare and deliver instruction, design assignments and assessments, grade student work, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Engage in professional development, effectively utilize the College’s Online Learning Management System (CANVAS), and maintain open communication with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Contribute to curriculum improvement efforts aimed at enhancing student success.
- Develop a course syllabus in the format determined by the College and post it to the approved system by deadlines.
- Prepare for and deliver class, studio, clinical, or lab instruction at designated times, modalities, and locations.
- Use instructional materials to plan and deliver instruction that enhances student learning.
- Develop or modify assignments and assessments to support and evaluate student understanding of course outcomes.
- Grade student work and provide timely, constructive feedback, including resolution of incomplete or disputed grades.
- Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the college and department.
- Validate textbooks, post syllabi, class/grade rosters, and submit final grades by deadlines.
- Remain current with using CANVAS as required by guidelines.
- Respond promptly to communication from students, colleagues and supervisors.
- Meet with students individually to review course work as needed.
- Collaborate with other faculty to support curricula improvement to promote student success.
- Option 1:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. - Option 2:
Bachelor’s degree AND TEFL/TESL Certificate from an accredited institution or FLDOE ESOL Endorsement.
Demonstrated understanding of the learner-centered approach to teaching, with teaching experience and a professional background.

- Professional expertise in the specific field/discipline.
- Maintaining faculty credentials as required by accrediting agencies.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
- Professional, courteous demeanor and commitment to supporting student learning and development.
- Works in a classroom/lab setting.
- Flexible hours, days, and assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.
This position is a pool/adjunct role and is temporary, part-time, and filled based on enrollment.
